GOLD, SILVER PRICE TODAY: PRICE OF YELLOW METAL DECLINES BY RS 100

MCX Gold prices have declined Rs 100 to Rs 70,636 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions. Similarly, MCX Silver prices fell Rs 113 to Rs 81,250 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets.

As per Goodreturns website, gold price stands at Rs 6,575 per gram for 22 karat gold and Rs 7,173 per gram for 24 karat gold (also called 999 gold).

Analysts attributed the fall in precious metal prices to weak global cues and profit booking at higher level, PTI reported.

International gold prices are heading for a second straight weekly decline as investors remained cautious ahead of the US non-farm payrolls data that could provide cues on the Federal Reserve's rate cut timeline.

After losing more than 1 per cent this week, Spot gold held its ground. The gold is trading 0.05 per cent lower at $2,308.40 per ounce. Along similar lines, Silver is trading 0.15 per cent lower at $26.79 per ounce.
