BOMBAY SHAVING COMPANY CEO EXPLAINS WHY PAYING RS 1.5 LAKH RENT PER MONTH IS BETTER THAN BUYING A FLAT

Bombay Shaving Company’s founder and CEO, Shantanu Deshpande, recently discussed his choice to pay Rs 1.5 lakh in rent for his Gurugram apartment, emphasizing why purchasing a flat doesn’t align with his financial strategy.

Deshpande’s perspective came in response to Ajitesh Korupolu, CEO of ASBL, who argued that opting for EMIs builds assets. Deshpande countered, highlighting the financial disparity.

He noted that in his prime Gurugram location, the rent for his apartment is a fraction of the potential EMI costs, making ownership financially impractical.

Additionally, Deshpande underscored the flexibility and freedom renting provides, especially considering his company’s changing office locations. He emphasized the ease of relocation and the absence of interest payments associated with renting, aligning with his preference for a lighter financial footprint.
