CENTRICITY SECURES ₹280 CRORE INVESTMENT FROM SMBC FUND

Bengaluru: Centricity, a wealth management startup based in Gurugram, has successfully secured ₹280 crore in funding, primarily led by the SMBC Asia Rising Fund. This investment aims to bolster the company's technology platform and expand its private wealth services both in India and internationally.

In addition to SMBC, several existing investors participated in this funding round, including Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments, Kuldeep Rathi Family Office, Stride Ventures, and InnoVen Capital. Founded in 2022, Centricity specializes in providing technological and investment infrastructure to independent financial advisers while also catering to high-net-worth individuals through its wealth management services.

Expansion Plans and Business Growth

Centricity operates various businesses, including the One Digital distribution platform, Invictus Private Wealth, and a global private client service tailored for non-resident Indians (NRIs). Currently, the firm manages assets exceeding ₹15,000 crore and collaborates with over 20,000 partners, serving more than 100,000 investors. The company also supports over 250 family offices and employs a workforce of more than 800 individuals. Notably, Centricity has reported a remarkable growth rate of nearly 200% over the past year, with expectations for its revenue to surpass ₹150 crore by the fiscal year 2027.

To further enhance its private wealth business and services for NRIs, Centricity plans to recruit over 50 private bankers for its domestic operations and an additional 35 to 40 bankers focused on NRI clientele. The company is also looking to expand its offerings through GIFT City and the Dubai International Financial Centre.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Insights

Manu Awasthy, the founder and CEO of Centricity, emphasized the significance of the partnership with SMBC, stating, “SMBC brings far more than capital. It brings the strength of one of the world’s leading banking groups, strategic banking and credit capabilities, and a long-term partnership that will accelerate our next phase of growth.”

Rajeev Kannan, senior managing executive officer and head of the India division at SMBC, highlighted the evolving landscape of India’s wealth management sector, noting that it is increasingly driven by the adoption of financial assets, a more sophisticated investor base, and a growing demand for technology-driven advisory services.

Previously, Centricity raised $4 million in a pre-seed funding round in 2022, followed by an $18 million seed round in 2024.
