WE HAVE GRADUALLY INCREASED OUR SIP: BENGALURU COUPLE SHARES RS 1.77 LAKH MONTHLY INVESTMENT PLAN

A Bengaluru-based couple has gone viral after sharing a transparent breakdown of how they invest their money every month. In a video posted on their Instagram account, they explained how they manage and allocate their income to build long-term financial security while living in the city.

Megha and Shubham began their video by saying, "Here’s exactly how we invest our money as a millennial family in Bangalore." The couple revealed that they gradually increased their SIP contributions and now invest Rs 65,000 each month.

Besides their monthly SIPs, the couple invests in equities, adds lump-sum investments when they have extra funds, and contributes to retirement plans. They also save for their daughter through a government-sponsored scheme.

"We have gradually increased our SIP investments over the years and now invest Rs 65,000 every month in mutual funds. We also invest around Rs 25,000 each month in Indian and US equities through SIPs. Whenever we find investment opportunities we believe in, we make lump sum investments as well. Last month, we invested Rs 25,000 as a lump sum. For our retirement, we contribute around Rs 30,000 every month through NPS and EPS," the couple wrote.

They added, "To secure our daughter's future, we invest Rs 12,000 every month in the government run Sukanya Samriddhi scheme. We also set aside Rs 20,000 every month for a travel fund because we believe spending time together and creating family memories is equally important. This brings our total monthly investments to Rs 1.77 lakh,"

How did internet react

The post drew mixed reactions on social media. While many users praised the couple's financial discipline and wanted to learn more about their investment strategy, others responded with humour. Some also argued that such a plan works only for a specific group of people.

One user said, “Your inputs are not relevant for most of the Instagram users, as we don’t earn hefty salaries.”

Another individual said, “Which are the exact funds you are investing in?”
